Glutaraldehyde disinfectant is a new type of high-efficiency, low-toxic neutral-strength disinfectant that kills pathogenic microorganisms such as bacterial propagules, bacterial spores, and hepatitis viruses. Glutaraldehyde has a broad spectrum of ability to kill microorganisms. 2% alkaline glutaraldehyde solution can kill the propagule in two minutes, kill the virus in 10 minutes, kill mycobacteria in 20 minutes, kill in 3 hours. Bacterial spores; therefore, glutaraldehyde can be used as a high level disinfectant. If the exposure time (10 hours) is sufficient, it can also be used as a sterilizing agent; the initial concentration of glutaraldehyde in foreign countries should be higher than 2% in principle, such as For disinfection, the exposure time is not less than 20 minutes, such as for sterilization, the exposure time is 10 hours; due to many factors during the use will cause a decrease in the concentration of glutaraldehyde: such as the polymerization of alkaline glutaraldehyde, water Dilution, frequency of use, volatilization and loss of disinfectant, etc., so the concentration of glutaraldehyde must be monitored daily.
Function characteristics: This product can kill bacterial propagules, fungi, and spores. It is a colorless or yellowish clear liquid with broad spectrum, high efficiency, low toxicity, safe use, low corrosive stability and so on.
Scope of application: For the sterilization of the environment and articles in the medical equipment, cosmetics industry, electronics industry, hotel industry, sanitary products and other industries. For heat and humidity resistant items, pressure steam and dry heat sterilization are preferred. Items that are not heat and moisture resistant can be sterilized with ethylene oxide gas. If glutaraldehyde can only be sterilized, the sterilized medical device must be rinsed with sterile distilled water (the saline may be corrosive). Any medical product must be thoroughly cleaned before being disinfected and sterilized; after cleaning, it must be dried before it can be immersed in glutaraldehyde solution to avoid dilution of glutaraldehyde.
